When booking a trip, most people just buy the cheapest air fare they find. They figure they’ll be on the plane for, most likely, an uncomfortable amount of time but they’ll eventually get through it. Seatplans.com strives to help you find the best seat on the plane that fits your needs.

You can do this by entering your travel information on the homepage or by comparing stats and ratings for all airlines and even individual flights. Before doing so you should first read their list of crucial questions to ask yourself when choosing a seat: Aisle or window? Day flight or night flight? Seatplans.com gives you general guidelines of seats to avoid and where to sit for more leg room. If you haven’t bought your tickets already, you can book your trip right there on the site. After your trip you can submit your review so others can read about the best and worst seats.

Although, Seatplans.com can’t tell you if you’ll be sitting next to Ashton Kutcher, they can certainly make your trip a bit more comfortable for your needs.

The Italian Farmer's Table Book CoverIf you love Italian food, the kind you’d eat in Italy, do yourself a favor and check out Matthew Scialabba and Melissa Pellegrino’s The Italian Farmer’s Table. Weighing in at 300 pages with over 150 recipes, this cookbook is filled with the most authentic Italian recipes and packed with anecdotes and photographs that make your mouth water.  It’s like your own little visit to Italy.

Two years ago Melissa and Matthew dropped everything to visit their motherland.  They quit their jobs, sold their cars and stored all their possessions to pursue their dream of writing a cookbook about the agriturismi of northern Italy.  Agriturismi are small working family farms that open their doors to guests and provide them with meals.  Developed by the Italian government in 1985 this system helps farmers earn additional income and helps them to survive as the face of rural Italy.

The pair visited and cooked at 30 agriturismi in the eight northernmost regions of the country.  They then adapted each recipe they learned in their travels for home kitchens so that each delicious meal could be recreated effortlessly.  The Italian Farmer’s Table presents unique recipes that fully represent what it means to “mangia.”

Approach Guides Italian Wine Guide iPhoneHow many times have you been completely lost when trying to decide what wine to order from a restaurant’s endless wine list?  At times this can be embarrassing if you are the one choosing a bottle for the table. There are so many things to consider: what type of wine you like, which complements the food and how much you want to spend.  Fear no more, there’s now a wonderful iPhone app to the rescue!

Just launched on March 11th, Approach Guides’ Italian Wine Guide is all you need to get you to that first glass.  No matter what your level of wine knowledge, you can easily navigate this application which has four options to help select a wine: by style, by grape, by region or food pairing. This app doesn’t need an internet connection so there’s no waiting. You can have your wine selection ready as soon as your waiter returns to the table. When you narrow your search with the four options you’ll be provided a list of wines that meet the criteria. From there you can read detailed descriptions, mark your favorites, find foods that will match your wine and get vintage ratings.

This amazing tool for the iPhone or the iPod Touch is available for $3.99 from the iTunes App Store on both devices, for more information, click here.
